Lajovic 3-6 6-3 3-6 1-6 Medvedev
Russian fifth seed Daniil Medvedev speaking after beating Dusan Lajovic: "In the second set he played an amazing level, I don't think you can play better than he did. I first off changed my clothes to be fresh for the third set. I was really tired at the end of the second set. I played aggressive, didn't face a break point afterwards and just played a tiny bit better. He lowered his level a little bit and happy to win."
On his reactions during the match: "He played some unreal points where I didn't know what I had to do to win a point. I tried to play even better and so I was really happy when I managed to do it, that's why I yelled 'come on'. It depend on the match and depends on the moment."
On coming back to the US Open: "Every year is different and if not better and better. First coming here I just try to win one match but now coming here is the best place in the world for me to play. I love it here, my favourite tournament in the world. Honestly, the only goal when I come here is to win. There are tough opponents but the only goal is to win so hopefully you can help me, guys."
